Plural of Nouns

• Generalmente, cuando queremos formar el plural de un sustantivo, agregamos “ s ” al final del mismo.

Pencils ( lápices )

Pencil sharpeners ( sacapuntas )

Books ( libros )

•  Pero cuando el sustantivo termina en “s – ss - x – ch – sh - o” agregamos “es”.  

Compasses ( compases )

Boxes ( cajas )

Watches ( relojes )

Paintbrushes ( pinceles)
Inches (pulgadas)

•  Cuando termina en “consonante + y” cambiamos la “ y ” por la “i”  y agregamos “es”

Dictionary ------------------ dictionaries ( diccionarios )

  University ------------------ universities ( universidades )

•  Cuando termina en “ f ”  – “ fe ” , cambiamos la “ f ” por la “v” y agregamos “es”  (hay excepciones ).

• Cuando el sustantivo termina en "a - e - i - o - u" + y/o agregamos "s".
